I was sent a link to a video by famous Danish architect Bjarke Ingles today where he suggested that Architecture should embrace the concept of Minecraft and become “Worldcraft” where we are enabled to turn surreal dreams into inhabitable space. As he sketched across a giant piece of paper with a chunky marker lucidly describing the concepts behind many of his major works I was, for a moment swept along with his enthusiasm.
Week 13: Railway, Victory Monument and Phaya Thai Palace
This walk was a real delight.
So easy to do just get off the BTS at National stadium. Do a little loop through Ratchatewi to see the railway (watch out for the rats!) then up to Victory monument. Grab some boat noodles at Wat Makok and make sure you have battery left in your camera for Phaya Thai Palace- I sadly didn’t so will have to go back.

Week 10: phra Khanong and coffee shops
Another quick foray of a more commercial and less gritty nature than my usual walking routes. Today my walk included two new ‘Community Malls’. My interpretation of a community mall is a smaller mall without the big international brands, no Starbucks, no H & M but more of a focus on local chains and being a focus for community activity/’farmers markets’.Read More
