Week 11: Mr K. Kukrit’s Heritage Home

Week 11I’ve recently been studying Thai architecture from a real live book which makes a lovely break from screen time. I’ve been making sketches and notes from this book (below) and decided that I wanted to go and see a traditional building.
STUDY
It was a super stormy and dark day with rain filled clouds so it was a fairly quick architectural dash but really worthwhile. If you’ve been to Jim Thompson’s house I can describe it as a less well publicised and less curated but nonetheless charming version. The garden was looking particularly lush in the rain but as it was reaching closing time I didn’t get to really poke around the inside of the cluster of central Siamese houses.  Definitely worth a visit and the book is pretty accessible too.

Full set of photos on Flickr as always.
