This proposal was to make the most of a currently inaccessible steep plot in Poole. The occupant had inherited an uneven paved upper terrace and a long overgrown garden with the most amazing views of mature pines. The solution was to create a series of terraces offering three distinct seating areas with different characters and outlooks. There is lots of seating, even designed into the balustrading, and the garden is ideal for entertaining and gathering. A new lower deck provides a place to sunbathe free from the shade of the mature pine. We have selected construction methods to be sensitive to the narrow access and avoid damage to the existing tree. The metal staircase is designed to be fabricated off-site, making it easy to install and planting flows underneath the metal grill treads. This garden has a sense of adventure and fun.
